to consider reviewing the legal issues regarding same-sex marriage. that includes the challenge to california's controversial proposition 8. if the court refuses to do that-review the proposition 8 case same- sex marriage would be legal in california and same-sex couples could marry as soon as next week. the court also put the case on hold to review other cases put off a final decision on and on the law. the decision could come today or monday. >> and man is in serious condition this morning after falling from the upper deck of the oakland coliseum, during the first 30 minutes of last night's raiders game. the male victim fell about 30 ft. from the coliseum's upper deck of to the concrete below. >> oakley said they believe the fall was an accident. >> police in foster city are advising residents to secure their vehicles after nine separate all burglaries were reported this week. officers responded to as many as eight break-ins that occurred sometime between monday night and tuesday morning. the right car break-in was reported wednesday. most of these break into happen along shale boulevard an

everyone california. and that makes up a pretty mild afternoon from north to south. in fact there's a fire danger in southern california around san diego while we will enjoy more sunshine today as the highs continue to build and we get the north winds. as we fast forward into the we hours of wednesday morning, there's a storm system coming in from the north and this is going to spread cooler air, not a whole lot of moisture associated with it, and temperatures will drop significantly. so back to today with the warmer weather. 60s and 70s common around the bay. in fact even in fresno where usually it's pretty darn cool this time of year, low 60s. plenty of fog to start out. low #* 70s for los angeles. take a look at these numbers. five or seven degrees above average. 63 downtown today, one of the cooler locations. otherwise we are talking mid-60s in oakland, san jose 65, 64 livermore and 65 in santa rosa. down by the monterey bay there is plenty of cloud cover right now but by the afternoon talking warmup with 66 in salinas and 64 gilroy. tomorrow to start the work week, very little change.

series of storms to sweep through northern california is here. we have live team storm coverage. let's begin with our meteorologist lisa argen who is tracking the storm will live doppler 7 hd. >> good morning, everyone. your eye goes right to the red and this is where it is draped from the sacramento valley back to clear lake and windsor and santa rosa. the back edge has been pushing through ukiah and with it the very gusty winds preceding the gusts. we have wind gusts up to 51 miles an hour at the airport, 38 miles an hour winds from hayward. a little lighter but still at the higher elevations you are seeing 63 miles an hour wind gusts down to about 2,000 feet down in the south bay. here's the north bay. look at the heavy rain from richmond, martinez and berkeley, now pushing into the east bay. and 580 and back westward. 280 in san francisco. not only looking it he rain but gusty winds. lighter rains into fremont and union city and the south bay. this will all continue to increase throughout the day. the first half of the day looking much, much different than the second half. caroly

at a bank in fremont. this is at the california bank and trust in the fremont hub. the bank was boarded up and a guard watched the property overnight just to protect the money inside. firefighters say they had to break-in to the bank to find the source of the flames and battle the fire. >> smoke coming from the roof. they forced president are you into the bank and there was a fire on the second floor. it was in the wall. >> took 40 minutes to get the fire under control. who investigators were called into figure out what caused the fire. the bank will bet shut down for a few days until investigators can finish their work. >> police are searching for the gun men in two separate shootings. in the first a bullet wounded eyeing bystander. that happened just after 10:00 p.m. the female is listed in stable condition. a couple hours later at midnight a man was shot on the 1700 block of 13th street. he is in stable condition. no arrests have been made. >>> a rising crime rate just one of the problems facing the new police consultant. he is expected to take over in february. he must also tackle i

river in california, nevada, is over, as well. the storm turned out to be colder than expected turning a lot of the rain to snow and dropping snow levels down to 7,000 feet. truckee river is now expected to crest below flood stage. >>> the good news is i think we are getting a break from all this weather. >> yeah. no rain today. we are going to get some showers during the week but nothing like over the weekend. >> no. i mean, those were amazing totals we saw from the storms, almost 16" in some of the mountains around the bay area. you can see why all the rivers are full. but the good news is they are going to stay within their banks. right now a much-needed break outside. still a lot of clouds out there. it's chilly in spots, too, down to 39 degrees right now in santa rosa. 45 in san jose. 49 in san francisco and 42 degrees in concord. here's the storm sweeping through yesterday. what a storm it was. some of the gusts there 50 and 60 miles per hour. not to mention all that rain. but now high pressure building in behind the system means we are going to dry things out at least for a day.

california. first quake registered 6.3, a strong one that hit at 2:36 this morning. second a quake probably an aftershock hit roughly the same area 15 minutes later and measured 4.7. both of quakes hit 150 miles southwest of catalina island. a tsunami warning has not issued. >>> students returning this morning to two cupertino schools after a bomb scare yesterday will notice extra security in place. terry mcsweeney is live at montevista high school with details for us. >> it appears that this entire thing that went on yesterday was a hoax but sheriff's deputies not taking any chances. they are going to have additional deputies at montevista high and also at lincoln elementary something that begin four miles from here in san jose. take a look at message that started this entire thing, at linbrook high school a spray-painted threat about a bomb and threat about a teacher. that threat led to santa clara county sheriff's deputies closing down montevista and lincoln elementary. bomb-sniffing dogs were called out. they checked out the campus. a room by room search went on. shortly after the 11:00
